Overview

Every summer, thousands of fireflies light up the night sky in the highest part of Tlaxcala, Mexico. Explore the sanctuary to witness this rare phenomenon that will make you feel as if you’re in a forest full of twinkling, fallen stars.

Witness this miracle of nature, then surround yourself in local culture and customs as you adventure around Cuernavaca or Magic Town.

Take off to Mexico City and immerse yourself in this unique and vibrant culture, before taking to the streets with our local guide to find the best authentic Mexican cuisine the city has to offer.

That’s not all… the last stop is at Tlatelolco, an ancient pre-Columbian city. This 14th-century market town is home to the Pyramids of the Sun and Moon, at the legendary Teotihuacan.

Eligibility:
Applicants must be:

• A member of a State Girl Guide Organisation
• 18yrs and over
• Have a medium level of fitness
• Excited to see one of nature’s most fantastic natural events
• Ready to make international guiding connections

Cost:

• Approx $7,000 AUD per person*. Final costs will be confirmed when applications close and final group numbers have been determined.

Includes:

• International Return Airfares from Sydney to Mexico City.
• GGA travel insurance.
• Airport and accommodation transfers in Cuernavaca and Mexico City.
• 6 nights accommodation at Nuestra Cabaña includes meals and activities.
• Local tours in Cuernavaca including either of the following:
  • Magic Town (Pueblo Mágico) of Tepoztlán, (including lunch)
  • Cuernavaca Downtown (including lunch)
• 5 nights accommodation at Ticalli Hostel in Mexico City.
• Local tours in Mexico City including:
  • Secret Food Tours (includes lunch)
  • Teotihuacan Pyramid
• International Guiding scarf & badge
• GGA contingent shirt and cap.

Excludes:

• Domestic return travel to Sydney.
• Evening meals and Lunch in Mexico City (except for Secret Food Tour).
• Any independent sightseeing, personal spending money, passports and visas.

*Paid in 3 Instalments:

• Once approval to travel received – approx. $3,000 AUD payable in 7 days from receipt of invoice
• The remaining 2 payment dates will be confirmed prior to applications closing on 4 April 2025

Terms and Conditions specific to this event package:

• Payment terms are final.
• Cancellations before the 1^st June 2025, will incur a cancellation fee of 20% of the total package cost.
• Cancellations after the 1^st June 2025, will incur a cancellation fee of 100% of the total payments made.
