Girl Guides Australia News February 2026

Term 1 always brings the excitement of World Thinking Day (WTD). This year, we celebrate its 100th birthday with a special GGA badge.
Helping others is a strong theme in this edition. Guides support vulnerable communities with initiatives like the Olave’s ‘It’s in the Bag’ campaign. They learn and lead on the environment with Clean Up Australia Day and the Helen Storrow Seminar. Others volunteer at World Centres in India and support the global Guiding community in Switzerland.
GGA strives to provide girls with new opportunities to thrive. This term, we will launch the Entrepreneurship Program, empowering girls to upskill in business, trade, fundraise, serve their communities, and excel in peak awards like BP and Queen’s Award.
Our volunteers are crucial to our success. This term, we are publishing leader resources on CSCF, Neurodiversity and Period Preparedness. The STEM working group will collaborate with CSIRO to support volunteers in building confidence and capability, making STEM activities more accessible to girls.
