National Young Women’s Forum

1st October, 2025
Nominations now open for roles on the GGA Young Women’s Forum

Girl Guides Australia invites each State Girl Guide Organisation (SGGO) to nominate up to four candidates for consideration to join the Girl Guides Australia (GGA) Young Women’s Forum.

The Young Women’s Forum is a consultative and reference group for GGA that provides input, feedback and guidance to decision making nationally. The forum is a network of young women aged between 16 and 30 years who amplify the voice of girls and young women and provides opportunities for further skill development.

The Young Women’s Forum meets up to eight times a year and is chaired by the Assistant Chief Commissioner (Young Women). The terms of the current forum participants are coming to an end, and we are seeking nominations for new and continuing forum participants. Those who have been a part of the current Young Women’s Forum term may be renominated for a further year, and new participants can be nominated for a term of two years. This will assist in establishing rolling terms to provide continuity to the forum.

When nominating, SGGO’s are encouraged to consider diversity and the nominee’s relevant experience. We are seeking active Guiding members, who are enthusiastic about sharing their perspective and can work collaboratively to make a difference.

SGGO’s may nominate up to four candidates for consideration, however, please note that only one may be selected. The forum has vacancies for up to 8 forum participants with at least one participant from each SGGO, where practicable. Ideally, some continuing participants who have been renominated will continue their term for a further year. An interview process may take place as required.

Please forward nominations, completed on the ADM 8 form to applications@girlguides.org.au by 15 October 2025.

If you have any questions, please email Laura Ives Hicks, Assistant Chief Commissioner (Young Women) at accyoungwomen@girlguides.org.au
