Thank you to our Amazing Volunteers!
National Volunteer Week (NVW) is the annual celebration to acknowledge the generous contribution of our nation’s volunteers. #NVW2018
From 21–27 May 2018, thousands of events will be held across the country to say thank you to the 6 million Australians who volunteer their time and on behalf of Girl Guides Australia, our Chief Commissioner Rosemary Derwin would like to recognise the contribution of all our wonderful volunteers to Guiding throughout Australia who give so much more than time, giving soul and spirit to our organisation.
Message from the Chief Commissioner:
As I sit at my computer, editing and proofing the Girl Guides Australia annual report, I find myself to be sitting in awe of the amazing work of all volunteers in Guiding in Australia that enable us as an organisation to empower girls and young women to grow into confident, self-respecting, responsible community members.
This week is National Volunteer Week in Australia. The theme this year is: give a little, change a lot. The theme represents the millions of volunteers who make a profound impact in their communities and on society, through giving a little of their time.
Guiding volunteers give so much so I am sure they must change much more! Each of our volunteers has committed to the philosophy of the Girl Guide Promise and Law and strive to make a difference in the lives of girls and young people. The impact is definitely profound!
Many thanks to each of you for all you do to contribute to Girl Guides Australia. May you continue to give and may you continue to be rewarded by knowing you are making a difference.
With every best wish,
