Interim Chief Executive Officer/Company Secretary, Girl Guides Australia
Marianne Karam has more than 20 years’ executive experience across finance, operations and corporate governance in many leading national and international companies in both senior executive and advisory roles across public, private and the not for profit sector.
Her executive experience spans listed USA multinationals and Australian companies in ICT, advertising and health promotion charities. Marianne has led strategy and planning; mergers and acquisitions; risk management and policy development; and organisation wide business transformation.
She was formerly the Chief Operating Officer and Company Secretary of the Sax Institute and has been a member of the Governance Institute of Australia Charities and Not for profit sector reform working group since 2012.
Marianne is currently Deputy Chair/ non executive director of the social services organisation Aftercare and the digital business the PUT Institute.
She earned her Bachelor of Business from The University of Technology and has fellowships with the Australian Institute of Company Directors and Australian Society of Certified Practising Accountants and is a fellow and Chartered Secretary with the Governance Institute of Australia.

Colleen comes to Girl Guides Australia with several years’ experience in organisational change and capability development – from small scale change initiatives to major workforce strategies. She is also an instructional designer and assessor with experience in international/cross cultural training and non-formal learning programs for both children and adults.
Colleen has a Bachelor of Applied Science in Cultural Heritage Management, a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, is a certified Member of the Australian Human Resources Institute, a Level 1 Partnerships Broker and is working towards a Diploma in Positive Psychology.
She is focused on supporting the development of capability in our paid and unpaid workforce, managing major projects and developing strategies to assist Guiding to evolve to meet the needs of the Australian community and the objectives of our national Strategic plan.
