Lone Guides are girls and young women who are unable to participate in Guiding through attendance at regular meetings. Instead they enjoy the fun and friendship of Guiding through correspondence - letters, phone, email.

Girls may choose to join a Lones Unit if attendance at the local unit is not possible due to distance from the nearest Unit, study, work or other commitments; girls may be at boarding school or travelling with family.

Just like other Guides, members of a Lones Unit have the opportunity to develop their skills through the challenge of the Australian Guide Program and gain recognition for their progress in the peak achievement awards, available to all Guides.

Lone Guides receive a monthly Unit meeting packed with fantastic activities, news and contributions from Unit members. They also have the opportunity to join with regular Guides at Region, State, National and International events. Guide Units can adopt a lone Guide and send her information about their meetings and invite her to Unit camps and other activities.

All the opportunities available to Guides are also available to members of a Lone Guide Unit. Contact your state office for more information.
