Sangam, Our Cabaña, Pax Lodge and Our Chalet all provide opportunities for young Guide/Scout leaders to volunteer to help at the centres for a short period. Many Guides from Guides Australia have recently worked at the World Centres. Here’s what one of them said:
"My three months as a volunteer at Our Chalet were truly unforgettable. With other volunteer staff from the UK, Poland, Russia, Korea, Switzerland and New Zealand my summer was transformed into an unreal opportunity to discover Switzerland, myself, and to make friends from around the world." Monica Hosken, Perth. August 2003
Volunteers stay for between six weeks and ten months.

It is a Girl Guides Australia requirement for you to apply through your State International Adviser for a World Centre volunteer position.
Have you heard or read about the fabulous experiences other members have had at international events overseas? Have you wondered how you could find out about coming events and how to apply for them?
Information about international events is published in your State magazine and on the State and Girl Guides Australia websites - see the opportunities available above!.
That information tells you who, what, when, where and how much - the age-group eligible to attend, the type of event, the date, the country in which it's to be held and whether home hospitality has been offered or a stop-over planned. There's also a brief description of the activities offered at camp. The estimated cost is given and a list of what it covers. Depending on the composition of the contingent, there may be some financial assistance for the Contingent Leader and you can also apply to your State International Adviser for financial assistance from the Irene Fairbairn Fund or your State travel funds.
Contact your Region International Adviser for the application forms, to complete the application process you will -
When all the forms have been completed you return them to your Region International Adviser, who will forward them to the State International Adviser (SIA).
If you have any questions about an event, contact your Region or State International Adviser or the Australian International Manager. We're all keen for you to have the opportunity for an exciting international experience and we'll be more than happy to help you.
