"Hamro Danphe" - Connect, Growth, Impact

 

The 12th WAGGGS Asia Pacific Regional Conference was held from 28 August to 3 September in Kathmandu, Nepal.  The theme for this conference was “Hamro Danphe” - Connect, Growth, Impact.

The conference is attended by 150 delegates from 24 Member Organisations, including six delegates from Girl Guides Australia, namely Holly Bracken, Chief-Commissioner Robinette Emonson, Kate Moore, Emily Milton Smith and Dani Smith (shown left to right in picture).

ARP Newsletter Report 2016

Regional events are held once every three years.

The Asia Pacific Region is the most diverse and the largest of all WAGGGS’ Regions, with 3.56 million Girl Guides and Girl Scouts and counting. It works to build the capacity of Member Organizations in order to achieve the Guiding mission of enabling girls and young women to develop as responsible global citizens and agents of change.

The aim of the event is to make decisions that take the Asia Pacific Region forward and ensure the movement remains sustainable, versatile and truly reflective of the needs and desires of girls and young women.
