Miranda learns from Children in India

In January 2011, I travelled to Sangam, India, for the Essence of India Children’s Camp event. During my short stay at Sangam I was presented with many new and exciting experiences. By far the best part of my trip was having the privilege to work with the children from Sangam’s community partner organisations. Every child that I interacted with was eager to learn more about me and my Australian customs. Although at times the language and culture difference became apparent, all the children were more than willing to help me learn some words and phrases in their local language. Not only did I love learning from the children, but they seemed to enjoy teaching me new things. It was amazing having the opportunity to learn about the local lifestyle first hand from such energetic young people. My Sangam experience was truly incredible; the time I spent in Pune, India, and the people I met will never be forgotten. - Miranda McGlaughlin (South Australia)
