WAGGGS’s Helen Storrow Seminar is a high-profile event that has been offering leadership development opportunities for young women since 1986. The seminar is held at Our Chalet, WAGGGS’s World Centre in

Switzerland, and addresses the most relevant issues in contemporary society. The seminar will focus on the environmental issues of today and explore ways to raise awareness and use practical skills to create change.

Learning Outcomes

  • To give participants the opportunity to explore

ways they can grow and develop practical leadership skills, which they can directly apply in their Member Organisations or community.

  • To offer participants the opportunity to learn about current environmental issues.
  • To incorporate the unique natural environment of the Swiss Alps into the learning process.

To give participants the chance to share best practices and to network for the success of future projects


When:  20-28 March 2017


Who:  Helen Storrow Seminar participants should be:

  • Active members of a WAGGGS Member Organization, keen to build leadership skills and support their Association
  • Passionate about environmental issues and committed to designing and running an environmental project in the wider community 
  • Mature and responsible global citizens
  • Able to access the internet
  • 18-25 years old in March 2017
  • Not have participated in a WAGGGS seminar before
